About this Event
The pantry is open Monday-Friday. Instead of our prior walk in pantry model, please call our front desk at 392-2368 to schedule a pantry appointment.
As part of our COVID-19 response, program hours, locations, and delivery methods may be changing. Please visit communityactionhouse.org/coronavirus for the most up to date information about our programs and services ***
Please note the following updates in response to COVID-19:
- Service hours maintained (1-4pm, Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, and 8:30-11:30am Wednesday and Friday).
- Change: Guests will be met in the parking lot and receive curb-side assistance, with staff providing food boxes based on family size. Guests will no longer enter and shop alongside staff and volunteers.
- Change: Guests will be asked to schedule their visits so we can best serve them via our drive-through service. Scheduling will be done in person at curbside or over the phone. This replaces our former first come first served walk-in pantry model, and is intended to ensure we are able to schedule visits so we can meet needs without overcrowding or unnecessarily long car lineups.
- Change: Guests will be provided with a larger food order, estimated to provide 7 days worth of food support rather than our standard 4. This is intended to allow our guests to better practice social distancing, which we’ll also provide advice on. These boxes will also provide, as available, basic household hygiene products (toilet paper, paper towel, soap).
Our service area is 49423, 49424 and 49460. If anyone is outside that service area but a pantry closer to them has been closed due to COVID, we will gladly assist with food. During the phone call to schedule an appointment, guests will answer some basic household questions. Our food is now shared via curbside service.
Monthly Food Distribution/Quarterly Commodities
Community Action House provides a monthly food distribution to all low-income households in our service area. Eligibility is income-based, and households must provide picture ID and proof of address to access service. Households may come each month to receive this food.
Staff at Community Action House make every effort to treat all people with respect and fairness, and to provide knowledgeable, culturally competent services to members of the community. As a client, you have the right to receive services that you are eligible for; we cannot always provide every service for every client, but whenever possible, we will provide referrals and information about alternative community resources.
