SNAP Challenge – Sandy
Wow! What an experience. I had completed a total of four days on the SNAP Challenge before I basically ran out of food. The SNAP Challenge was not only an eye opener for me, but also for my family, co-workers, friends and church friends. It was all I talked about for a week and was the topic for my small group at church. What we take for granted is a luxury that many people never experience. We had dinner out Saturday evening and our whole bill would have paid for a week of food for a family of four. We talked about it with our kids after dinner and felt the guilt and sadness of the struggles people in our own community are confronted with every day. I would encourage everyone to take the challenge and open the dilaogue with those around you about the struggles our neighbors go through on a daily basis.
