Day 5, 6 & 7 — Christi

50Day 5 of the Challenge fell on the day I needed to do all the last minute shopping for my parent’s anniversary party. I already gave myself a pass for the day of the actual party, and planned to extend my Challenge through Monday. Day 5 breakfast went without a hitch. I had a glass of juice, oatmeal with milk and honey, and a warm cup of water (my coffee replacement). I left the house around 8 a.m., ready to buy the party food. After the shopping was done, I stopped back by my house to repack the car and head for the party location 80 miles away. I was in a hurry, and I was hungry! I grabbed 6 of the cookies we baked for the party and two diet sodas before I left the house. I would have to add another day to the end of my Challenge.

Day 6 of the Challenge was my parent’s anniversary party. Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad!

Day 7 of the Challenge. I have to add 3 extra days to my Challenge. After visiting family on Sunday, I traveled 80 miles back home and unpacked the party supplies. I ate leftover party food and went to sleep at 7:30 p.m.

I endured a couple of days of party stress. Big deal! Many families are forced to chose between food and other necessities such as medications, gas, housing and utilities.

That is a stress no family should have to endure.
